MORE than 50 people, many armed with dustpans and brushes, helped out during a beach clean-up at Tregantle in Whitsand Bay. The aim of the event, organised by Rame Peninsula Beach Care (RPBC), was to clear some of the many thousands of microplastic pieces which, as well as being a threat to marine creatures, are difficult to remove. Volunteers removed more than 100 black sacks of waste, as well as lots of fishing net, crates and cannisters, said RPBC.
