Moonshadow's slow start
The fact that many Eclipse revellers left it until the last minute to make their way to Cornwall meant a slow start for the Moonshadow 99 Eclipse Festival at Crafthole.
It was anticipated that about 2,500 people would gather at the festival site for four days of entertainment, but festival press relations officer, Jane Osborne, said that there had been a quiet beginning.
Top acts booked for the event, at which numbers gradually increased in the run-up to Eclipse day, included Van Morrison.
Following the Van Morrison appearance, however, the festival closed early.
