MODEL Charlotte Holmes is looking forward to an exciting year ahead.

The 29-year-old, who grew up in Torpoint, has been recording MTV’s Beach Body SOS with Vicky Pattison – and the first episode is on air this evening (Thursday, January 18)

The series, filmed in Spain, follows 16 contestants as they undergo a health and fitness transformation with the help of personal trainers.

As one of the seven trainers on the show, Charlotte was on hand to give advice and encouragement on everything from diet to doing the best exercise for their physique.

’It was a really fun show and it was great fun working alongside Vicky Pattison, who herself, has gone through a huge transformation both physically and mentally,’ said Charlotte.

’Each trainer was assigned their own clients, whom we worked with for ten to 12 weeks.

’We focused very much on overall wellbeing and health rather than just dropping weight, which as most of us now know isn’t the way to achieve health and fitness.’

After winning the Miss England title in 2012, Charlotte moved to London to persue a career in modelling and has worked with brands such as Marks and Spencer, Adidas, Speedo and ASOS, also filming campaigns for Cornish companies Finisterre and Fourth Element.

She has qualified as a personal trainer, fitness instructor and yoga teacher and teaches classes at a top city studio alongside her modelling work – and says one of her proudest moments so far has been appearing on the cover of December’s Women’s Fitness magazine.

Charlotte says she is now crossing her fingers for a second series of Beach Body SOS as she enjoyed the first so much. The show launches on MTV at 8pm.
