Despite having been left homeless by a devastating fire, the owners of Polperro's popular model village say they hope the attraction will be open once more by the Whitsun holiday at the end of May.

Lee Gregory, his wife Julie, children Mitchell and Georgia and their pet tortoise, Grampy, pulled from the flames by 11-year-old Mitchell, were this week sorting out the immediate aftermath of the blaze which destroyed their flat and the Land of Legend exhibition below.

This week Mr Gregory paid tribute to everyone who has rallied round the family after the fire, in which they lost virtually everything.
