There were two letters in the Cornish Times of 28th April, supposedly furthering political debate, but both of them devoid of any political significance.
Mr George Wilson attacks Mrs Austin, accusing her of political dogma. Ms Vera Preston of Saltash expects Dawn Austin to hang her head in shame for the actions of previous Governments.
Like all Liberal Democrats, these two persons find it very difficult to discuss practical politics because their minds are clouded with political animosity. If it were Liberal Democratic dogma they were arguing it would be understandable, and it might even command respect if it were sensible dogma. But personal animosity attracts no respect at all.
Council Tax payers look to their representatives to provide honourable and practical policies, pursued for the benefit of those whom they represent. I suggest that Mrs Austin has shown that she understands this.
MISS RACHEL TRANT
Pelynt.
