The ladies' new season got underway on Thursday September 2 with the new team Smuggles "Pirates" winning their first match 5-2 against the Rising Sun.

Devon and Cornwall Ladies played against their other team - Rebels - and lost to them 5-2. Also playing their other teams were Mark Too v MoF 5-2 and the Archers v Wanderers 4-3.

In latest matches Rising Stars suffered another 5-2 defeat with Ann Parsonage winning against Lesley Bailey and Sara Wooldridge beating Jan Ryder.

The Devils had a lovely evening winning 7-0 against the Mark of Friendship. Karen Knight (M-oF) scored 125 but still lost to M Bignall. Devils swept the board winning the half crown as well.

The other Mark team 'Mark Too' had a better evening, beating D&C 6-1 with Lynsday Brown the odd one out as she won her game over Chris Griffiths.

Rebels and Zikies matches were all won in straight legs with Zikies clinching the contest on the last game to win 4-3.

The Pirates lost their second match when tumbling 6-1 to the Angels. But it was a fun night with horn and whistle blowing from the Pirates.
