A LOOE man is relying on his memory to get his name into the record books. Tom Morton, who moved to West Looe six months ago, is spending his time trying to recite the Yellow Pages phone book. Tom has an IQ of 145 and once had a regular set in Blackpool called the Unforgetable Memory Show. As well as memorising 5,000 numbers from the phone book, Tom is also attempting to recall the mathematical equation 'pi' to 100,000 decimal places, and recite an original speech for a record- breaking time of 30 hours. Tom, who once forgot his own four-digit PIN number, has only just started working on remembering the thousands of telephone numbers, but has already made a good start, memorising a couple hundred local business numbers. Tom's progress will be updated on his website http://www.learnmemory.co.uk">www.learnmemory.co.uk when it is launched in the next few weeks, and is hoping to get out into the community to help teach people the power of the brain.
