People in Par and St Blazey are being invited to an information event to find out about plans for the area and share their knowledge of local flooding.

The event will primarily focus on the St Austell Bay Resilient Regeneration (STARR) project which aims to reduce flood risk.

The drop-in event, PL24 Futures, is on Thursday, April 12 at Alexander Hall, St Blazey from 2pm until 7pm.

The StARR project is being developed by a partnership of Cornwall Council, the Environment Agency, Cornwall Development Company, South West Water, The University of Exeter and Westcountry Rivers Trust.

There will be the chance to see the proposals that been developed so far to reduce flood risk to those living and working in Par and St Blazey.

Residents are encouraged to come and talk to the team about flooding issues and bring old photos of the area that show flooding so that local information can be gathered to build justification for the project.

Those involved in the developing the St Blaise Neighbourhood Plan and the Tywardreath and Par Neighbourhood Plan will also be on hand to explain how the neighbourhood plans also have long term aspirations to improve the local area.
