In front of a good-sized crowd, and having won the corresponding away fixture back in October, Lanreath went into this game confident of completing the double. They introduced new-signing James Mariarty up front and his early pace and trickery saw Tavistock struggling to contain him and a little more patience in front of goal could have resulted in him scoring.

As it was, the game reached the halfway mark goal-less. Tavistock were always in with a chance of scoring but it was left to Dan Lawrence to give Lanreath the lead when, on the hour mark, he raced into the penalty area to score following good work by Mariarty.

Unfortunately Lanreath were unable to improve on that goal and were forced back on defence as Tavistock stepped up the pace.
