YOUNG people came out in force on the Rame Peninsula to draw attention to ‘an invisible housing need’.

A peaceful parade marched through Kingsand and Cawsand to the site of the Old Ship Inn. A community-led project, spearheaded by the Peninsula Trust, hopes to transform the derelict building to provide housing for local rent on the upper floors and a community facility downstairs.

As the crowd gathered in Garrett Street, a passionate group of people had the chance to explain the realities of reaching adulthood on the Rame Peninsula, where wages are low, and decent, affordable housing is scarce.

The Trust says it is optimistic that it can make a difference - but it needs investors to bring the rebuild to fruition.

A community share offer is set to close on May 10. For more information, contact [email protected] or call 01752 658516.
