A real marathon effort resulted in several organisations in Cornwall receiving donations.
Funds raised by the Cornish Marathon, organised by the East Cornwall Harriers club, were presented to Children’s Hospice South West, 1st St Ive Guides, 1st Liskeard Scouts, Cornwall Raynet, Dobwalls Football Club, Cornwall Blood Bikes and Pensilva School.
Race director Rob Pick and East Cornwall Harriers chairman Mark Andrews presented cheques totalling £2,175.
A spokesperson said the success of the race, one of the toughest but most popular marathons, depended on the support given by volunteers as well as members of the harriers club.
The marathon has been run for around 30 years.
Cornwall Blood Bikes took along one of their machines to the cheque presentation event.
