EAST Cornwall rugby player Lucy Demaine captained the England Under-18 team to victory during the Lions' friendly match with Wales at the new Surrey Sports Centre in Guildford.

Unbeknown to Lucy, a minibus full of supporters from Bodmin College (where she is stu-dying her A Levels)

and Liskeard-Looe RFC (where she started playing rugby at the age of seven) travelled to Guildford to cheer her on.

The captaincy came as a surprise to here, and she was putting on her boots when Under-18s coach Andy Skipper asked her to be the skipper on the day.
