ALISHA Dobson, 18, of Looe, has had a once in a lifetime opportunity by working and studying under the internationally renowned Patrick Cameron, one of the world's leading hairdressing platform artists. Studying the highest level of the National Diploma in Hairdressing at Cornwall College, St Austell, Alisha was delighted to be selected to attend a two day intensive course run by Cameron at his studio in London. Very few hairdressing students are able to attend this course but such are Alisha's talents that the Head of Department sourced funding to enable her and a fellow student to go to London. Alisha, who is particularly gifted in long hair work, was thrilled when she learned she was to meet Cameron, dubbed the 'Maestro of Dressing Long Hair'. Admitting to feeling nervous Alisha said Cameron made her feel right at ease the moment she stepped into his salon. 'He was really friendly and chatty and was interested in my ideas. He was also impressed with my standard of work as well as the College's courses and levels of achievement.' Alisha, who aims to complete the Diploma next year says her choice will be limitless once qualified and senior stylist, travelling, freelance, and TV and film stylist will be among her considerations.
