LostFest is back for another year on Sunday, May 20 with its eclectic mix of music, dance, food and fun for all the family.
The quirky one-day festival is free to enter from 10am and with a popular reputation far beyond Lostwithiel, thousands of visitors are expected. Organisers are encouraging people to use the train or the park and ride scheme if they can as Fore Street will be closed all day. A new ‘park and walk’ scheme is recommended for the energetic and is located a mile up Bodmin Hill.
A popular highlight of Lostfest is the vast range of live music performed at various locations around the town. From samba drumming to folk rock and barbershop to blues, there will be entertainment on every street corner.
World street food is also a big draw for festival-goers, and there will be many live demonstrations and workshops of arts and crafts.
If energetic excitement is more your thing, head to the King George V field where an inflatable assault course and soft play area will provide a place for youngsters to let off steam.
Children’s activities at the riverside beach include face painting, free arts and crafts, music, dance and forest school sessions, all located near to the medieval bridge.
As the evening approaches, live music takes over on the main stage, with New Wave band MorZim at 5.30pm followed by folk rockers Bonetired at 7pm.
LostFest supports the Front Line Emergency Equipment Trust (FLEET) and while entry to the festival is free, donations on the day are encouraged.
