The R. J. Priestly and son, Haulage Contractors lorry from Lincoln had appeared to attempt to turn around on the road outside St Peters Church and had failed to do so successfully.
This incident again brought to light the issue of the promised by-pass which would lessen the flow of traffic and lorries through the village, and could prevent such incidents happening.
Geoff Jubb who runs the Post Office in the Spar shop said: 'The money for the by-pass was put aside long ago. The road, how it is as the moment, is splitting the village in two.'
Geoff hears complaints from many people coming to the Post Office, he said: 'A lot of the older people in the village live the other side of the road and they do complain about the road and the lack of safe crossing places.'
He added: 'The campaign for the by-pass during the summer was well run, well intended and amicable, but did not seem to have achieved its aim.'
People in the village have commented that only so much can be done and more drastic measures may hold better results. Protestors have vowed the fight for the by-pass will continue.
