The town of Looe is ready to welcome thousands of festival-goers over the weekend as the very last preparations for Looe Saves the Day get underway this morning.

A main stage is being built in the Buller Quay car park and the festival team say that the weather will not be dampening anyones spirits.

‘One of the things even the Looe Saves the Day team can’t control is the weather,’ a spokesperson said.

‘The forecast for today is for wind and rain, although we are hoping this will improve by the time of this evening’s warm up event to test the equipment. Friday and Saturday are then due to be better, with some strong winds and rain returning for Sunday.

‘Our key priority is to make sure that everyone is kept safe and we will be monitoring the weather situation closely. In the meantime we are determined not to let rain dampen our spirits and we will be working hard to ensure that everyone who comes to Looe over the next four days has a great time.’

One change that has been made due to the weather forecast is that a children’s silent disco, originally planned for the seafront, will now take place inside the Boscarn (Saturday 1-3pm).
