Looe Chamber of Trade and Commerce is on the verge of being suspended because of a lack of officers. As reported previously in the Cornish Times, chairman Brett Pearn had warned that if officers could not be found then the chamber would cease. The problem has not been solved and now Mr Pearn is planning to close the chamber's bank account to ensure that no further payments are taken from members. He has also written to Looe Town Council's tourism panel to ask members their thoughts on them becoming 'caretakers' of the popular looe.cornwall.com website. He hopes to discuss the matter with panel members in the new year. Mr Pearn said he did not think the chamber would be badly missed in the resort. 'We have got so many different bodies in the town doing similar things any way,' he said.
