An award-winning garden designer will be working with The Animal Health Trust to create a main avenue show garden at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show.
Sam Ovens, whose landscape garden design practice is based in Fowey, will be raising awareness of the work of the Animal Health Trust which researches, prevents and cures diseases in dogs, cats and horses including cancer, blindness and epilepsy.
The design of the garden will feature a double helix structure of a DNA module surrounded by trees and plants and including a boardwalk, arch, pavilion and bench creating a calming space. The study of DNA reflects the charity’s dedicated genetic research programme aimed at identifying and preventing hereditary illnesses in animals.
