Camera Club
Liskeard and District Camera Club is a small but enthusiastic and friendly club, whose members scan the range of beginners to seasoned photographers.
To celebrate the Millennium, it was decided to record photographically the everyday life of Liskeard in the year 2000; covering the town; people at work; leisure and play; special occasions and activities.
It is interesting to look at old photographs, say the Liskeard of 100 years ago, so a selection from this record of Liskeard 2000 will go into the archives for the interest and pleasure of future generations. Citizens of Liskeard have been most friendly and helpful allowing club members to photograph them.
The Millennium Festival Awards for All Committee awarded a grant for this project of ú1200 from the Arts Council of England.
Top Photo have provided much assistance in the development, printing and enlargement of the photographs.
An exhibition of the project so far will be held at Stuart House on Friday 29th September and Saturday 30th September. (St. Matthews Fair Day)
A new Mini
club in town
THE European car of the century is hoping to find a new home in South East Cornwall with the creation of a Mini club based in Liskeard.
South East Cornwall Mini Club, through its creators Glenn Gatland and Tracey Peacock, is appealing to all Mini owners in area to join this local group.
The club, which is still in its planning stage, is hoping that, with enough support from the public, regular meetings could take place with the added idea of runs around Cornwall becoming a regular attraction for members.
The club hopes to bring together people who run Mini's and who can provide practical help and support to other owners. For futher details about the club contact Glenn and Tracey on (01579) 343390, e-mail [email protected]">[email protected] or write to them at 19 Kilmar road, Liskeard, Cornwall, PL14 3TU.

The playing strength of the Club has progressed steadily over the years. Our gratitude goes to the greenkeeper, Rob Pacey for continuing to improve the playing surface.
