Success for the

Celtic exhibition

THE Celtic exhibition, celebrating the Millennium, at Stuart House has now come to an end. Judging by the number of visitors who came to see it and made purchases it was an outstanding success.

Three years, or so, ago when the idea of doing something special for the Millennium was discussed, an exhibition with a Celtic theme was proposed. Eileen Crouch, now the chairman of Stuart House committee, undertook the task of getting funds, recruiting exhibitors, advertising, publishing leaflets and the mass of work connected with it.

I am sure exhibitors and visitors alike would agree it was a very well organised and successful venture, and would wish to offer congratulations and thanks to Mrs Crouch, who no doubt would like to thank those who helped with refreshments, and the team of stewards.

Another pleasing aspect was hearing visitors who had known the house in the past saying they could scarcely believe the transformation which it had undergone. Some recalled the days when beams were propped up, and the floors had holes in them.

Some exhibitors have expressed an interest in returning before Christmas, so watch for information in The Cornish Times, or call in to Stuart House for coffee on a Saturday morning and enquire about membership. Members have regular newsletters, a monthly shop where they can sell produce, crafts and plants, and have concessions on visits.
