PREMIER DIVISION LISKEARD Athletic are still searching for a manager for their Carlsberg South West Peninsula side after their number one target turned down the chance to take over at Lux Park. Leigh Cooper decided to remain at Plymouth-based side Vospers Oak Villa, who play in Division One West, and complete the job he has started at Weston Mill. The Blues are now actively searching for a manager and the committee at Lux Park have a list of possibilities to consider. The club has seen the return of Dave 'Ticker' Hick as acting vice-chairman to work alongside Chris Burchell, who has been inundated with work commitments and will be grateful for Hick's experience in running one of the South West's biggest non-league clubs. Burchell has also been assisting coach Paul Goodwin in running the first team, and the pair looked to have turned the corner last weekend with a notable three-goal victory over Tavistock. 'It was nice to see a smile back on the players' faces, as a happy dressing room leads to success,' said Hick.
