The school is being sold on the instructions of Cornwall county council, following the merging of Liskeard school and community college's lower and upper schools on the upper school site at Luxstowe.
An unsuccessful campaign was fought by residents in Old Road, and some former pupils of the school, some years ago to keep the lower school buildings standing, and convert them into a primary facility. This was in the wake of the announcement that Liskeard junior school at Varley Lane would close. But, instead, a new junior school was built.
The Lower school is being sold by informal tender by David Burt and Partners, of Pike Street, Liskeard. The closing date for interested parties is noon on October 16. Outline planning permission was granted by Caradon council for residential development on July 21 this year.
