FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round replay Shaftesbury 0 Liskeard Ath 3 The Blues travelled to Dorset on Tuesday determined to put the record straight after Saturday's poor performance saw them draw 2-2 with their Wessex First Division opponents. Manager John Clarkson had been rightly scathing of his squad after the first game, but those words had the desired effect as Shaftesbury were never in this replay and the 3-0 scoreline just about reflected the Blues' dominance. Clarkson had earlier stated that the long mid-week journey was a penance for his squad but after the final whistle he admitted: 'The lads were magnificent tonight and this was how they should play.' 'The goals were class and with a little bit more luck the margin of victory would have been higher,' said the Blues' boss. Liskeard began the stronger of the two sides and it was no surprise when they took a 25th-minute lead when former Exeter professional Chris Wright burst into the area to supply the perfect finish into the far corner of the home goal. Liskeard continued to push forward and were unlucky when Ben Wood's effort came back off the home crossbar but another goal had to come and it finally arrived 20 minutes from time. Dominic Richardson blasted a shot goalwards that beat the home goalkeeper but saw a defender make a superb one-handed save on the line before receiving the customary red card. Wright extracted the correct punishment by cooly converting the penalty to put a more realistic look to the scoreline. Clarkson introduced Leon Hapgood and the former Torquay professional's first two touches produced the Blues third, and final, goal. Hapgood's first touch controlled the ball before he skillfully used the inside of his right boot to curl a peach of a shot inside the far post from 25 yards.
