THE Liskeard Local Food Market will be returning tomorrow (Saturday, February 12) and celebrating the beginning of its third year of operation – though while work on the town’s Cattle Market site is under way the market will be held in the new temporary venue of The Parade.

The market will again be taking place on the second Saturday of each month, but in the area of The Parade outside the Cornish Times’ Webb’s House office and from the earlier time of 9.30am until 12.30pm, with the altered times being to help make set-up and taking down of the stalls easier.

A spokesperson said: “The Food Market is run by Liskerrett Community Centre, together with the fabulous stallholders/producers to bring you the freshest of produce from in and around Liskeard, South East Cornwall and slightly beyond.”

The spokesperson added: “The market is held outside so is weather dependant: a bit of rain we can cope with, but strong winds we can’t..... so if it’s blowing a hooley the Market will be cancelled.”

The market will continue to be held each month in The Parade until the new under-cover area of the former Cattle Market site is completed.
