TWELVE-year-old Cara Collins, a pupil of Liskeard School and Community College, has won 11 golds, seven silvers and three bronzes in Badminton England National Tournaments in singles, doubles and mixed since last September.

This includes winning the U21 Cornwall County Championships in December.

Cara’s interest in badminton was first inspired by playing with her parents and older siblings before joining Liskeard Junior Badminton Club where her talents were spotted by local coach Jenny Marchant.

Cara has a number of tournaments still to play this season, including the U13 English National Championships, but her ultimate dream is to break into the top six and eventually play in the 2020 Olympics.
