This top-of-the-table clash was no spectacle, but proved to be a cut-and-thrust affair that saw Liskeard just about deserve their victory over a St Dominick side who lost their first League game since August.

The Blues held the balance of play and were unfortunate not to take the lead when goalkeeper Steve Williams pulled off a terrific save.

St Dominick replied, with Kevin Blatchford heading narrowly wide before the same player was denied by a flying save from goalkeeper Rob Brown.

The Saints were then denied a Blatchford goal when he was mysteriously pulled up for offside after running past a defender to pick up a long through-ball before despatching it into the net.

The hosts started the second period well, with Ian Rook heading narrowly over, but the visitors' pressure eventually told when Lee Caers prodded home during a goalmouth scramble.

Five minutes later Liskeard secured the victory when a poor defensive header by Chris Canham fell at the feet of Simon Skews, who cut inside to drill the ball by Williams.
