Members of Callington Lions Club pitched in to provide a new play area at the town’s Scout Hut.
The outdoor area available to Scout groups was overgrown, dark and filled with rubbish, said Lions president Emma Burnard.
But after five weekends of carefully choreographed activity – and several tonnes of concrete – the space has been transformed.
It was hard work, said Emma, but many hands make light work, and volunteers from the Scouts and the town council joined the Lions to get the job done.
Local people offered their time and equipment to help with clearing, levelling, resurfacing and re-fencing the piece of land.
