Both of Looe’s inshore lifeboats were launched early on Sunday afternoon following a report of overdue kayakers.
The group were located safe, one mile to the east of Millendreath, unaware that they were overdue.
After the incident, helm Clive Palfrey urged those who take to the sea to keep a track of time and, when they realise they will be overdue at their destination, to make contact to confirm all is well and give a revised return time.
The inshore lifeboats returned to the lifeboat station after the kayakers were located.
