Bryant Homes is appealing for relatives of Rowena Cade to come forward after the housebuilder awarded the one-time Cornwall resident the posthumous honour of having a street in Cheltenham named after her. The Cades moved to Cheltenham from Derby in the early 1900s and lived in the city until the 1920s, when Rowena moved to Cornwall with her mother. It was here Rowena planned, built and financed the awesome Minack Theatre, situated on the rugged Cornwall coast - a lifelong project that secured her place in history. Bryant Homes has recognised Rowena Cade's Cheltenham heritage and her contribution to English theatre, by naming a street at its new Cheltenham development after her and with the housebuilder launching the Villas on The Park scheme, regional sales and marketing director, Daniel McGowan, is keen to meet any relatives of Rowena. Daniel said: 'Rowena's story is an interesting tale of one women's determination, and the Minack Theatre is a great testament to her passion for the theatre. I thought it would be fitting to acknowledge her achievements by naming a street at Villas on The Park after her. 'I am appealing for any relatives to get in touch and come and take a look at the homes that have been built here on Rowena Cade Avenue. I hope they will not be disappointed with our tribute.' If you are a relative of Rowena Cade, please contact Bryant Homes on 01242 578830.
