The Cornish Times received a letter from A Hamilton, Looe, it said:

"Dear Cornish Times, re your letters page June  28, 2023, was this a spoof letter? 

"It mentioned among other things ;-Fowey (pronounced “foul-way”), Par pronounced Arrrr. 

"A traditional Cornish pasty filled with minced beef and jam! 

"It suggested feeding chips to sea gulls to stop them screeching and seemed surprised to be admonished for feeding sea gulls!

"The writer from Shropshire seemed surprised that defunct industrial mining parts of Cornwall looked defunct industrial. Oh dear...."
