Len Trueman from Torpoint has overcome a heart attack, two heart operations, diabetes and blindness to represent his country at bowls for the blind and partially sighted.
Sixty-two year old Len will be travelling to Bangor, Northern Ireland, to play for England, against the other home countries.
The international competition takes place between August 3-7.
