Bond Timber Liskeard and District Billiards and Snooker Leagues

The annual Bond Timber Liskeard and District Billiards and Snooker League's presentation evening was held at the Hannafore Point Hotel last Friday, where 113 players and friends attended.

The evening began with League President Dave Elliott thanking Chris and John Bond of Bond Timber for sponsoring the Leagues for the 2008-09 campaign.

He then went on to thank secretary John Daniell and treasurer Peter Bourne, along with the other League officers, for their continued support, and Geoff Toms and Steve Ackroyd who ran another successful raffle, which raised £161 for League funds.

Business development manager for WH Bond & Sons, Andy Pearce, responded on behalf of the company and praised another succssful season, as well as confirming that Bond Timber would continue to sponsor the League for the 2009-10 term.

Arthur Tink, president of the St Germans Billiard League also thanked Bond Timber for their continued sponsorship, as well as secretaries Tony Brend (St Germans League) and Dave Clue (Liskeard League) and Darren Hunn.

John Daniell congratulated all the League winners including Kevin Steed, who had been quite poorly earlier in the year, in retaining the County Individual Snooker Title.

The League snooker trophies were presented by Emma Delbridge, sales manager for Bond Timber, and the billiards trophies by Andy Pearce.

The AGM will be at Liskeard Conservative Club on Wednesday, May 27, at 7.30 pm.

Pairs: Premier Division – winners: K Steed and M Rowe; runners-up: A Snell and son; Division One and Two – winners: N Edmonds and M Summerfield; runners-up: G Triscott and J Robertson.

Season's Outstanding Youth: M Hunn; Most League Wins: Darren Lock, Gary Hughes and Peter Ivey (all 22). Lock received the trophy with a 12-point advantage over Hughes.
