The make up of the lower divisions of the Jolly's Drinks Cornwall Cricket League for 2006 has been confirmed. Three new teams, Menheniot seconds, St Minver seconds and Camborne fourths bring the total to 159 teams in 14 divisions. Applications from Rosudgeon and Bude (North Cornwall CC) to enter third teams have been refused as the league's grounds committee were concerned that satisfactory pitches, outfields and facilities were not in place. Menheniot seconds and St Minver seconds will play in a maximum 12-team Division Six East next season. The full composition of all divisions are available online at cornwall-cricket.org.uk The LMC have resisted the opportunity to geographically zone the lower divisions for 2006. It will consider the option next year when for the first time a three-tier system is expected to be in place in the league. If agreed at the AGM in January teams at various levels of the league will be able to propose and vote on matters affecting their particular tier only. The LMC have also revised the starting date of the 2006 Jolly's Drinks ECB Cornwall Premier League to Saturday April 29, along with the rest of the CCL divisions. Bank Holiday Monday May 1 will therefore now be the one blank day in the 21-game Premier League season.
