After their disappointing reverse in the Junior Cup on Saturday the team travelled to their local rivals at Marsh Parc for the cup replay and fielded a makeshift team with a few players having to play in unaccustomed positions.

The visitors started in a positive mood and came close on a couple of occasions but couldn't break the deadlock. Both sides played attractive football on a pitch that was very soft and muddy. The first half remained goalless.

Dobwalls took the lead early in the second period when Martin Polatch put Glen Toms through and he casually picked his spot to open the scoring. The home side levelled when Simon Hunt drove the ball home from the edge of the box after the ball had been partially cleared by Karl Roberts.

Both sides created chances and if it were not for a few good saves made by each of the keeper the goal tally could have been a lot higher.

Simon Fisher gave the visitors the lead after 80 minutes and Johnny Niblett sealed the result from the penalty spot after Martin Polatch had been upended. The game was very competitive as you would expect for a local derby but it was played in a fairly good natured manner. For Dobwalls it was a brilliant team effort and the man of the match award was a difficult choice. It was narrowly won by skipper Mark Fielder although he was pushed close by Glen Toms.
