The family of a keen horserider who died in an accident have paid tribute to 'the most wonderful person anybody could wish to know'.

Sue Fox, 54, from St Ive, was killed following a fall on Saturday while she was with her horse, Blue.

Paramedics and the Cornwall Air Ambulance were called at just after 8am and were quickly on the scene, but Sue suffered irreparable brain damage and died later that day at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth.

Her partner, Andy Stewart, said: 'She was the most wonderful person anybody could wish to know.

'She will be remembered for her smiles and quick mind for a good joke – Sue made people laugh.

'She had a heart of gold.

'She loved living in Cornwall – the peace and tranquillity of the moors made it her home.

'She loved life! God bless her.'

Sue worked in the advertising department at the Cornish Times and staff were shocked to learn on Monday morning of the unexpected death of their valued colleague.

The general manager and director at the Cornish Times, Jan Eagle, said: 'She was a loyal and trusted colleague and friend who leaves a space in our lives that will be forever filled with happy memories.'

She worked with the firm from 1998 to 2003 and returned again in January 2009.

Sue was with her horse near Hepwell Farm, Quethiock, when the incident happened.

Sue's brother, Steve Wright, said: 'It is of great comfort that Sue was doing what she loved at the time, with her horse, Blue.

'She was really enjoying her life, friends and animals and loved her job at the Cornish Times.

'The family is so grateful she was "living her dream".

'The family is overwhelmed by the level of comfort and support that everyone is providing with such gratitude.

'Her infectious happiness will be missed.'

Sue's father, Colin Wright, added: 'She was an inspiration to all the people who knew her, for her cheerfulness and integrity.

'Sue was a person who did not deserve to die.

'May she rest in peace.'

It was the family's wish to have Sue's organs donated.
