LISKEARD Junior School will be opening a large new reception hall and canopied terrace dedicated to the parents of the school. The building is the outcome of a long-term priority of the school to enable a welcoming and valuable space for parents, providing a meeting space, increased open-plan reception area and a gallery for children's artwork. Headteacher Martin Clark said he felt confident that the building would be a great asset for the future of the school, which will merge with Liskeard Infant School to become Hillfort Primary School in September. The stylish and stunning building was designed by Arco2 Architecture Ltd and incorporates features such as sheep's wool insulation, local timber and a planted sedum roof which will flower and provide an additional attraction. The official opening will take place on Wednesday, May 3, at 4pm when long-serving governor Joan Moffat will declare the facility open.
