Continuing to grow in strength and full of confidence following last week's demolition of Bude in the cup, the Liskeard-Looe team set about this match full of purpose. The opening 'salvo' thrown at Exeter resulted in two quick tries from Bas Hocking and Kevin Ridgers the current top try scorers for the team.

Exeter were very solid in the scrummage and managed to exert pressure up front. However, any ball won was cancelled out by the superb 'defensive' tackling by flankers Ben Morris and Chris Lewis and a solid looking back line.

Liskeard dominated all other phases and maintained constant pressure throughout the match. The pack are looking very mobile these days and it's not unusual to see any members of the front five making runs in open play as well as working hard in the tight. Even when Exeter decided to kick to gain ground, full back Chris Yeatman, in excellent form, was there to clean up and start the counter-attacks or clear to touch.

It's nice to see that the ball is being passed along the line more now and many a scoring chance was created by some great movement in the threes, with some unselfish play.

As with the previous week, Liskeard-Looe again scored eight tries: Hocking (three), Ridgers (two), Kirran Bruce, 'Dinky' Richards and Sam Morgan. The only area of concern was that only three of the tries were converted: Kevin Ridgers (two) and Kirran Bruce (one).

Next week, Sun 30th Jan is training for the Under 13's (no training on Friday 28th).
