Record results brought sleepless nights to an end for many on Tuesday as teenagers across South East Cornwall collected their GCSE results. Students achieved the highest results in the history of Torpoint Community College with 94 per cent achieving 5+ A*-C grades. Twin sisters Zoe and Tamsyn Hudson Rose achieved 13 A*s and ten As between them, while Lillian Rogers, Rory Simmons and Alex Ogilvie gained all A* and A grades.

Headteacher Andrea Hazeldine said: 'We are hugely proud of all their successes and recognise that their hard work and determination has led to great things.'

There were jubilant scenes at Callington Community College where record results saw 86 per cent of all students achieve five or more A*-C grades.
