The Feral Wild Animal Project, based in the Par/Tywardreath area, is advertising for a ‘Wild Animal Keeper’.

FWAP is a small private, breeding and conservation project set in the private grounds of a house on the outskirts of Fowey. It is not open to the public but has occasional on site tours and events.

They specialise in ‘Malagasy Euplerids and Felids’ such as clouded leopard and cheetah as well as spotted hyena and sun bear to large Asian hornbills, birds of paradise, cassowary and lemurs.

The job, which is paying between £18k and £22k, involves feeding, cleaning out and ‘providing enrichment for all the animals’. Candidates must have previous experience of keeping wild animals ideally felids, birds, primates and other carnivores.
