Callington secured their place away from the re-election zone with this encouraging draw against a Wadebridge side that had beaten Falmouth earlier in the week in the spring sunshine at Bodieve Parc on Saturday.

Wadebridge took the lead early on but Callington were soon on level terms when Kevin Russell headed home from close range on 20 minutes. Several chances came and went for both teams before the break but neither side could break the deadlock.

Callington had the better of the early exchanges in the second half causing problems down each wing with Gary Williams and Chris Gerry's incisive runs and crosses but the final touch was not there and Town had to overcome a late charge from the home side before the final whistle and the realisation that results elsewhere meant that the Marshmen are safe from the bottom two sides, Launceston and St Austell, an encouraging performance in their first season in the Jewson League and with a minimal budget.
