The major hurdle of securing a first Launceston win has now been overcome. The Clarets must now believe they can build on this and earn enough points to climb away from the bottom.

Nothing is done easily and on Saturday Launceston fell behind when Jerry Solomon scored from close range following a corner. To be fair Launceston had the lion's share of possession but despite both Steve Oliver and Liam Tilley going close went in one-nil down at half-time.

Launceston pressure finally paid off after 60 minutes when Shaun Turner's hard work paid off and he grabbed the equaliser.

Pete West the Launceston keeper made two great saves to deny St Austell before Sean Johns coming on as a substitute scored with his second touch, a forceful run and shot. Moments later Shaun Turner made it 3-1 when he scored from close range.

In the final moments St Austell gained and scored from a penalty, but Launceston held out for a well deserved win.

"The feeling at the club is that this being our first win was the most difficult and from here we will go on to surprise a few people", said Andy Pascoe.
