A GANG of olive-skinned, gold-toothed jewellery thieves wanted by police forces across the country, has been targeting shops in the area. Police have issued an appeal for people to be on the look out for thieves who stole a £5,000 diamond ring from Time and Motion Jewellers, in Liskeard, on Monday morning. The theft comes days after another jewellery shop in the town was targeted and a gold chain was stolen. On both occasion the thieves, who worked in pairs, were described as being of Mediterranean appearance, with distinctive olive skin and gold teeth. Looe and Liskeard's sector inspector, John Turner, said: 'Police are linking the crimes because the descriptions of one woman are so similar it is believed she could have been involved in both robberies. I urge anybody who recognises the description of these people, with the most prominent feature being the olive skin and gold teeth, to contact Devon and Cornwall police.' Inspector Turner also said that he was aware other police forces across the country were looking for the suspects. The man and woman involved in the Time and Motion jewellery theft were very smartly dressed when they walked into the store at around 11am on Monday. They claimed they were looking for a birthday present and were shown a couple of rings which they said they wanted to buy. Manageress Tina Mollard then wrapped the rings but the customers left the shop saying they were going to exchange euros for sterling and never returned. When the boxes were unwrapped a diamond ring was missing.
