James Alexander had his curly locks sheared off by Janeen Langdon for charity in The Crumplehorn in Polperro. Janeen had won the right to the job by making the highest bid in aid of the NSPCC during an earlier 'bidding war' for the privilege. In all, James and his friends raised £2,441.78 in aid of the NSPCC and ChildLine, with the support of landlord and landlady Alan and Sonja Crockford, and bar manager Franco Miccli. In the spring, James and his friends are planning a further fund-raising event in the from of a walk around the Cornwall Coast Path, starting at the Torpoint Ferry. Anyone who would like to support or sponsor them is asked to contact Mary Crawford, secretary of the Looe and Polperro NSPCC fundraising committee, on 01503 264896.
