A CORNISH charity is inviting people to remember and celebrate the life of a loved one this month and raise vital funds.
Memories by Moonlight for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) is open to anyone wishing to remember and celebrate the life of a loved one.
Anyone interested is encouraged to register online, after which they will receive a memory pack through the post. Participants can then either complete a sponsored memory walk with a route and distance of their choice, take part in a different activity that reminds them of their loved one or they can simply make a donation in their loved one’s memory.
On Saturday evening (September 26) participants are then encouraged to join online for the Memories by Moonlight memory ceremony, broadcast live on Facebook from Little Harbour children’s hospice at 9pm.
The poignant and uplifting ceremony will feature readings from all three of the charity’s children’s hospices, music, poems and time for reflection.
Kiley Pearce, Events Fundraiser for CHSW said: “You do not have to have used one of our hospices to be a part of this event, it is open to everyone and we are thrilled to know that so many people will be getting involved. We hope that our memory ceremony, albeit virtual, will provide an opportunity to remember those no longer with us while also bringing this community of supporters of Children’s Hospice South West together.
