Cornwall Hospice has closed its charity shops and postponed or canceled fundraising events until mid-July.

A spokesperson said: ’The impact on our funding, having cancelled the above, is going to be significant. There will be a time, in the near future, where we will look to our county to help fund our services and we appeal to everyone to help ensure we can continue to care for those who are terminally ill.

’In the meantime those who can, we ask that you please help us now, by either playing our weekly lottery www.cornwallhospicecare.co.uk/support-us/lottery/ or

donate to help keep our nursing care funded at www.cornwallhospicecare.co.uk

’We will keep everyone posted in the coming days and weeks and look forward to opening up our shops and running fundraising events again in the future.

’Finally, we’d like to remind people that despite these closures and cancellations and thanks to our extremely dedicated nursing teams, our two hospices remain open and we are still admitting those patients who need our specialist care.’
