Horse riders will ride through the centre of Liskeard on Sunday to get their safety message across.

The national ‘Pass Wide and Slow’ campaign aims to get drivers to do just that, and go ‘wide and slow’ when they pass riders and horses on the road.

With rides taking place from Penzance to the Shetland Isles, the Liskeard event will start off from the lower car park of Lux Park Leisure Centre at 11am.

Organiser Helen Gosling is encouraging local riders as well as supporters on foot to come and join the group on a route of approximately five miles around the town.

The group are expected to ride through The Parade between 12 noon and 1pm.
