Gary Williams of Looe Community School has passed his Guildhall School of Music and Drama preliminary keyboard exams with 'High Honours', gaining 229 out of 250 marks.
Gary, who has been deaf from birth, has been learning keyboard for three years. Although he has to wear two hearing aids and transmitters in class, he says he has no difficulty in hearing musical pitch.
Gary plans to do woodwork at college, but intends to study music in his spare time.
