France has persistently bullied this country over many years in the field of British exports.

Their actions have been both illegal and uncivilised.

It is now time that we refused to be treated in this way, after all we are the second largest nett contributor to Common Market funds, and France is a major beneficiary of that fund.

We don't want to follow the uncivilised and illegal conduct of the French ..... we have no need to, providing that we the consumers are firm in our resolve not to buy any French product (motor cars, food or wine, whatever) until the French lift their illegal and wholly unjustified ban on British beef.

British beef must now be the safest beef in the world; it is subjected to more stringent checks, testing and safeguards than any other beef anywhere in the world!

There is absolutely no justification for the French attitude to British beef, so let us, the consumer, hit the French where it will hurt them most, namely in their exports to this country.

So next time we go shopping, may I suggest we make it our aim NOT TO BUY ANYTHING FRENCH, until such time as they end their wholly illegal action.

I am personally convinced that a strong, healthy, agricultural base is essential to the economic well-being of this country, we must now allow the political shinnanakins of Berlin or Parish to destroy that base.

We can make a difference! Consumer power can bring the French to heel, and I trust we will all exercise that economic muscle next time and every time we go shopping., and the exercise of consumer power IS LEGAL.
