RESIDENTS and visitors in South East Cornwall will again have the chance to see a historic steam locomotive from the golden age of Anglo-Scottish express trains passing through the area on Sunday.
In a week which will also see the famous former London & North Eastern Railway locomotive Flying Scotsman spending time in the Westcountry on a visit to the West Somerset Railway at Minehead (from Tuesday, September 5, to Tuesday, September 12), its old rival from the London Midland & Scottish Railway, the Royal Scot, is due to head to Par with the Royal Duchy mainline excursion train from Bristol via Exeter and Plymouth.
The Royal Duchy excursion, which is being operated by the Railway Touring Co, is due to run at mainline speed through the area, is expected to arrive at Plymouth at 12.47pm on Sunday and to arrive at Par at 2.02pm, with its route taking it through Saltash, St Germans, Menheniot, Liskeard, Bodmin Parkway and Lostwithiel stations.
The return journey is due to leave Par at 5.40pm and to reach Plymouth at 6.54pm.
