A Cornish charity that helps vulnerable and low income householders keep warm in their homes, so any health issues are not made worse living in cold or damp conditions, is encouraging people to get in touch.

Anyone in Cornwall who is living on a low income, and has a member of their household suffering from a long-term health condition, can contact Community Energy Plus’s Smart Warmth project to find out if they could qualify for a grant for up to £300 for energy efficient home improvements, including heating repairs, window repairs or replacement, draught proofing, extractor fans and dehumidifiers and portable heaters.

Please call Community Energy Plus on Freephone 0800 954 1956.

Donna Cooper, Senior Manager at Community Energy Plus said: ‘We are pleased to be linking our Smart Warmth project to the Winter Safety initiative as it enables us to reach out into communities in Cornwall to offer advice and practical help to keep vulnerable householders warm, well and safe in their homes this winter.’
